Estes Park, CO is located
at the gateway to the Rockies, and receives hundreds of thousands of
visitors each season. Parking all those vehicles efficiently
supports the delicate balance between tourists, locals and Elk.
Estes Park aggregates
occupancy data in Mistall from several parking systems, including Parkmobile,
Genetec Fixed, and Mobile LPR. Mistall helps Estes Park
understand parking behavior in all their locations, and publish
real-time availability to parkers.
This season, to encourage
parkers to park in the underutilized off-street parking structure,
Estes Park created the Park-n-Walk Challenge.
Regular parkers are encouraged to register their license plates to win
a prize. Each time the parker enters the structure, they are
automatically entered into a monthly drawing. The more they park
in the structure, the more chances they have to win. Monthly
drawings started in June and will end in October.
Has Estes Park been able
to change the parking behavior of some parkers to park in the structure
more often? Well, we have the numbers, and we'll provide the
results once they have been tabulated.
Stay tuned!
